Volunteer Experience

I was lucky enough to assist with the Apprentice classes at the Settlement Home during my volunteer time with the Fresh Chefs Society. This two-class series taught the girls knife-skills by teaching them how to make pico de gallo. During the second class, they also learned how to make a twist on risotto with salsa verde! I absolutely loved my time with these girls and helping teach them how to cook. This organization works to empower youth transitioning out of foster care by providing apprentice class series throughout the year as well as a Home Mentor program, which I plan to enroll in once my schedule becomes more concrete.
